Could Jamie Dornan be getting an Oscar for Fifty Shades of Grey? Fans won't know until the film comes out next year, but the screenwriter of the film is joking that the star should receive one.

What Film Jamie Dornan Just Signed On To After 'Fifty Shades'

In an interview yesterday on E! Online, Fifty Shades screenwriter Kelly Marcel joked that the sex scenes featuring Dornan as Christian Grey should warrant an Academy Award.

Marcel answered questions during a Q&A at DBA in Hollywood for their "An Evening in the Writer's Room" series with host Reza Aslan. When asked if it's hard writing a sex scene, Marcel quoted the Fifty Shades book. "Mmmm...he's soft and hard at once, like steel encased in velvet, surprisingly tasty, salty and smooth. He's my own Christian Grey-flavored popsicle."

Marcel said, "She says that, 'You are my popsicle.' That line went in, it's genius. They apparently did that scene great." She then joked, "Apparently Jamie is great at being soft and hard at the same time. Which is hard to do for an actor! He's going to get an Oscar!"

In terms of the actual scenes, Marcel admitted she had to be quite descriptive in her script. "I had to actually describe everything! It was really embarrassing when you're doing studio notes around the table with 12 people."

Fifty Shades of Grey with Dornan and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele is expected to come out Valentine's Day 2015.
