The Survivor editors demanded a new contract this week that would provide them with industry-standard health insurance as well as pension benefits. When Survivor producer Mark Burnett and his company Island Post Productions did not immediately respond to the demands, the editors went on strike.

However, Burnett and company have reached out and will be speaking with the editors on Friday.

The Motion Picture Editors Guild, who are representing the editors in this deal, posted on Facebook Wednesday night about contract talks being set for Friday.

"Contract talks have been scheduled for Friday. In the meantime, our strike action has been suspended, and Survivor post-production employees will return to their jobs on Thursday," the post read. "Our picket line will stand down until further notice. Please do not report for picket duty tomorrow. Kudos to the crew of Survivor for their resolve they showed today and this important victory."

Survivor is currently gearing up for its 29th season, which was filmed this summer. Titled Survivor: San Juan del Sur, the new season will feature 18 new players, though there will be the Blood vs. Water twist employed in Season 27. This means that there will be nine pairs of loved ones, so each player will have someone they know playing in the game alongside them.

Survivor: San Juan del Sur is expected to premiere Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. on CBS, though prolonged contract negotiations could push it back.
