As filming of Terminator: Genysis is finally through, the speculation about the plot of the movie has taken over, and one of the main points of contention has to do with Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his role as the iconic cyborg.

Teaser Trailer For Terminator: Genysis To Release Soon?

While there are no suprises in store with regards to what character Schwarzenegger is playing, nothing has been revealed about the cyborg's allegiances. The machine has known to side with both the antagonist and the heroic in different chapter from the movie. So the question about him helping the Connor's or being sent down by Skynet to wipe them out instead still lingers.

But it seems like the cyborg will be playing on the villain's team if the movie is going to be true to the concept of the reboot and take fans back to the original, made in 1984. But it has also been previously suggested that the movie would be a cross between Terminator and Terminator: Judgment Day. In fact Schwarzenegger also stated in an interview earlier this year that Genysis would be a lot like Judgment Day. In the latter movie, the cyborg was helping the younger Connor out and protecting their family from other T-800s that were looking to wipe them out. As Schwarzenegger also revealed that there will be multiple cyborgs, it's also quite likely that he might be on the good side.

Final Scenes Of Terminator: Genisys Being Filmed In San Francisco?

If Genysis will actually be a cross between the two, the story might begin with Schwarzenegger's cyborg seeking the Connor's and Kyle Reese out to terminate them, but maybe changing sides midway. Another report suggested that the terminator will switch sides as someone from the Connor clan will convert the cyborg.

The movie is being directed by Alan Taylor and also stars Jai Courtney, who will be playing Kyle Reese, and Emilia Clarke will play Sarah Connor. Sandrine Holt (House of Cards) will be playing Detective Cheung, who will "arrest Kyle and Sarah when they arrive in 2017."

Terminator 5 is scheduled to release in July 2015.
