Some unlikely alliances will be forming this season when The Originals returns to The CW in October.

'The Originals' Films 'Long And Violent' Night Sequence For Season 2

On Wednesday Steven Krueger, who plays fan favorite vampire Josh on the series, boasted a scene with Daniel Gillies (Elijah) and Chase Coleman (Oliver). "Previous rare time on set with @danieljgillies & @ChaseRColeman yesterday," he tweeted, adding teasingly "Elijah, Josh, & Oliver part of the same plan?? Hmmm #TheOriginals".

Krueger followed the message up open Thursday with a pic of him alongside Charles M Davis (Marcel), director Jeffrey Hunt, and Coleman. "Another killer episode from @Huntvision," he wrote above the Twitter photo, referring to the director. "Can't thank you enough for always remembering Josh's coverage. #TheOriginals".

'Dangerous Alliances' Could Be Fatal For Colin Woodell's Aiden On 'The Originals'

With the series continuing night shoots this week, it's likely some plotting was going on in the scene Krueger was referring to. Poor Josh is one of the few vampires, if not the only one, Marcel has left in New Orleans.

Originally Josh had been written as a likeable character intended to die off during season one, but was spared after the writers decided that they were far too fond of the character to part with him. As a result, creator and producer Julie Plec found herself surrounded by writers who refused to kill him off and eventually came around to the idea of having Josh as a regular for the season.

The Originals returns to The CW for a second season on a new night Monday, October 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
