As filming for Terminator: Genysis has finally wrapped and fans eagerly await a teaser or some kind of legit footage from the movie, Enstars rounds up all we know about the fifth instalment in the franchise so far.

Terminator: Genysis Not To Be A Reboot And Won't Hearken Back To The Original?

The new film is being directed by Alan Taylor and Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to reprise his role as the iconic mean machine. Jai Courtney will be playing Kyle Reese, Jason Clarke will be portraying the part of John Connor, and Emilia Clarke will play Sarah Connor. Sandrine Holt (House of Cards) will be playing Detective Cheung, who will "arrest Kyle and Sarah when they arrive in 2017."

While it had been suggested that the film will be a reboot, that is not exactly true. It has been reported that Terminator: Genesis will rewind to the first two films in the series and will move back and forth in the plot with the help of time travel scenes.

Another very interesting aspect of this film is the fact that the cyborg will age. Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that the Terminator won't defy mortality for the very first time.

"The way that the character is written, it's a machine underneath," he said. "It's this metal skeleton. But above that is human flesh. And the Terminator's flesh ages, just like any other human being's flesh. Maybe not as fast. But it definitely ages."

The actor also suggested that there would be multiple cyborgs in the film.

A first look photo from the set featured Schwarzenegger, Emilia, Jai Courtney and Jason Clarke. In the image Emilia, who plays Sarah Connor, and Courtney, who plays Kyle Reese, are dressed in blue scrubs and are holding onto hand guns. Schwarzenegger stands behind them, suspiciously looking on, while Jason, who plays John Connor, seems to be explaining something to them.

In a report earlier this month, it was also confirmed that Miles Dyson would be returning in Terminator: Genesis. It was also revealed that Courtney B. Vance (Law & Order: Criminal IntentThe Hunt for Red October) will be playing Dyson in this chapter of the sci-fi franchise. Dyson was orginally portrayed by Joe Morton inTerminator 2: Judgment Day.

Finally, fans can expect one cult film franchise to pay ode to another.

The director of the film, Alan Taylor, had previously suggested that his inspirations for the reboot were derived from the Batman series.

Taylor spoke about how much he loved the first two films in the Terminator franchise.

"We all love the first two and I actually went back and watched them again and my respect level only went up for those first two," he said of The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

As Cyberdyne is set to be a crucial part of this film as well, it was revealed that the futuristic set will be situated in Redwood Shores California, where there are a bunch of pristine blue skyscrapers which house companies like Oracle.

There was also the announcement of a new addition to the cast. Douglas Smith (Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters) will be playing the part of a younger John Connor. The older Connor will be portrayed by Jason Clarke in the movie.

It was also recently confirmed that Miles Dyson, the founder of Cyberdyne will be returning in this instalment. Courtney B. Vance (Law & Order: Criminal IntentThe Hunt for Red October) will be playing Dyson in this chapter of the sci-fi franchise. Dyson was orginally portrayed by Joe Morton in Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Terminator 5 is scheduled to release in July 2015.
