Story Of Edward Mordrake, Man With Two Faces, Covered In American Horror Story: Freak Show

The premiere for American Horror Story: Freak Show will be Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 10 p.m. on FX, according to a new network announcement. FX also released a plot synopsis for the newest installment, which takes place in 1952 and centers on one of the last freak shows in America.

"Freak Show begins its tale in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Florida," the synopsis reads. "The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American carny experience."

World's Smallest Woman Joins American Horror Story: Freak Show

There are no character descriptions here but fans can expect most of their favorite stars from past seasons to return. Jessica Lange plays Elsa Mars, the owner of the troupe, while Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Frances Conroy are all returning to play "freaks."

FX also released the first teaser trailer for Freak Show. The 10-second trailer features a person with a deformed hand extending a ticket to American Horror Story: Freak Show to the camera. The logo for the season then flashes.

This type of trailer has been used since the very beginning of American Horror Story, with no real footage used from the actual show. Instead, it gives a taste of the feeling of the new season.

Actual footage should be coming within the next few months before the Oct. 8 air date.
