It looks like the rumors are true after all. After there was speculation in the media that Mariah Care and Nick Cannon are headed towards a divorce, the television host confirmed that there is indeed "trouble in paradise" between him and the chart topper.

Nick Cannon 'Handles The Pressure?'

Cannon opened up on Thursday to set the record straight about his marriage.

"There is trouble in paradise," Cannon, 33, told The Insider of his marriage to the Grammy-winning pop diva. "We have been living in separate houses for a few months."

It looks as though Cannon might have beat his soon-to-be ex-wife to the punch as rumor had it that the couple was to give the media a formal announcement about their divorce next week.

Mariah Carey Denies Retirement Rumors

On Monday, The Hollywood Gossip announced that Cannon might be staying with his grandparents right now. There is no word on why the two might be calling it quits, but it's reportedly being said from sources that no one has been having an affair. Also, Carey and Cannon allegedly agreed to a trial separation.

Howie Mandel, who works with Cannon on the reality competition America's Got Talent, recently gave the impression to Entertainment Tonight that there's nothing to be suspicious of in the host's marriage by mentioning all of his great qualities.

"I think Nick's a consummate professional," Mandel said, via Wetpaint. "And I think, you know, the rumor mills aside are just part of the game and it ain't through until it happens. So I think he handles the pressure, the rumors and show business fantastic. And he's a great father, great husband and a great host."
