Survivor host Jeff Probst revealed Thursday that the series was banning current contestants from tweeting during the run of their season.

No Redemption Island on Survivor 29?

Probst answered some Twitter questions Thursday on location while filming the 30th season of Survivor in Nicaragua. With Season 29 in the can and set to premiere in late September, Probst has announced a pretty big change in regard to contestants' Twitter accounts.

Twitter user @Sharon_531 told Probst that she stopped watching Survivor after so many contestants were tweeting from home, implying that the contestants were spoiling results. Probst responded that this was "killed" from Survivor 29 and beyond.

Survivor Winner Parvati Shallow Teases Potential All Winner Season

"RT @Sharon_531: @JeffProbst stopped watching after saw [c]ontestants tweeting from home.. while show still on -WE KILLED THAT FOR S29-BEYOND," Probst tweeted.

Probst has previously expressed his distaste with contestants tweeting about their own season before it's even finished airing. The host previously said in a Reddit Ask Me Anything that he was hoping to change it after many Survivor: Cagayan tweeted potential spoilers.

"I'll answer this again in the hopes that the VP of publicity is reading this - I do not think we should do it," he said at the time. "It works on other shows but not a competition show that is still on going. Big risk. I fear it will bite us in the butt one day."

Survivor 29, a.k.a. Survivor: San Juan del Sur, is set to premiere Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
