While Daniel Craig is set to keep the role of James Bond for the next two movies, it seems like the actor may move on from the role after his contract runs up, but could a movie villain be taking over the role after him?

'Bond 24' Looks To Feature A Bunch Of Classic Characters

It seems like The Dark Knight Rises and Mad Max: Road Fury star Tom Hardy may be the actor at the top of the list fro James Bond replacements, according to Celebrity Ex news posted on Sunday. The video added that Hardy will be the right age by the time Craig's contract runs up.

It would be an inspired choice since Hardy has experience both with action, leading a franchise, and blockbuster films. The British actor has been in Christopher Nolan's Inception and The Dark Knight Rises, has been action ready in Warrior, and will be taking over his own franchise with Mad Max next year.

But could that schedule prevent him from taking over Bond? That is a possibility depending on how well Mad Max takes over and if Hardy stays on to star in the follow-up films, but Bond could also be a tough role to pass up. He gains security and would allow himself to be a part of an iconic movie character.

Hardy would bring a different demeanor to the character as Craig is more of a classy fighter with a hint of the street-fighting, Bourne like character that has become popular in action movies. Hardy is probably one of the most adept street-fighting actors working today and would allow the franchise to up the ante with the action presented.

Bond 24 is set to open in theaters on November 6, 2015.
