It was revealed that Glee alum Nolan Funk will be joining the cast of season 3 of Arrow, on August 28.

The Wolverine Star Joins To Play Character In Flashback Scenes Of Arrow

The Hollywood Reporter announced that Funk will be part of the fifth episode titled The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak. According to the report, he will likely be part of flashbacks as he will be portraying Cooper Seldon, Felicity's boyfriend from her past in MIT. He will be known for his hacking skills.

"In the aftermath of this victory, Season Three opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen - not as long as the city needs The Arrow."

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim also spoke about Felicity's mom in an interview. "We've established in the past that mom is a cocktail waitress in Vegas," said Guggenheim. "She and Felicity are two very different people. Episode five, which is when Felicity's mom comes to town, really deals with the differences between these two women and how much of their relationship is a struggle as a result. It's a real challenge for these two people to find some common ground."

The finale of season 2 of Arrow aired on May 14 on the CW.

Season 3 premieres on October 8 on The CW.
