There has been a alot of uncertainty surrounding the direction and cast of Transformers 5 since Michael Bay stated that he will not be coming back for the Age of Extinction sequel.

While there has been a lot of speculation surrounding Bay and Mark Wahlberg's return, there have also been rumors about Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox possibly returning. There has also been no word on the return of Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor, who made their big mainstream debuts with Age of Extinction. If things fall apart with the current cast and crew there is a possibility that the producers turn to the old ones.

In April, Wahlberg spoke to the LA Times about the fact that Transformers 4 was not a sequel and that he has never done a sequel in his career.

"Some people think of this as a sequel," he said. "We thought of it more as a stand-alone thing. I've never done a sequel."

While there are many ways to interpret what the actor meant by that, could it also mean that he is averse to doing sequels? If that is fact would it affect his decision to take on the trilogy that is to begin with Transformers 4.

Speaking to E!News in an interview dated August 4, Fox revealed that she would be interested in coming back on board if she was asked.

"If [Bay] ever wanted me to do a cameo like assembling an autobot motorcycle in a bike shop or something like that, I would totally do it," she said.

Transformers: Age of Extinction hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
