The operational psychologist will return during the "The 3rd Choir," and Nate (Peter Cambor) will team up with Granger (Miguel Ferrer) for at least part of the time.

The actor then posted a photo of himself and Ferrer in the NCIS: LA headquarters, looking serious with their weapons drawn (see above).

While Nate was a regular during the series' freshman season, the insightful agent now only appears occasionally. Last year Nate popped up in "Impact," "Iron Curtain Rising," and "Tuhon" to follow up on some cases and clean up the psychological mess left behind from "Ascension," but it is unknown what will bring him back this time. Perhaps it will have to do with the fallout form Kensi's (Daniela Ruah) Afghanistan torture.
