NCIS: Los Angeles' Hetty Lange is in hot water, and her predicament may drag Nell down as well.

Nell & Nate Have 'Emotional' Scene On 'NCIS: LA', Will It Reveal Their Past?

The NCIS: LA operations manager came under fire last season for her dealings with the White Ghost (Matthew Del Negro). When the operation ultimately went south and Callen's (Chris O'Donnell) team allowed Kensi's (Daniela Ruah) old fiancée to walk away, Hetty (Linda Hunt) was recalled to Washington to face a review.

Hetty will kick off season 6 by defying those orders, although she will eventually head to the capital. Described by Hetty and Granger (Miguel Ferrer) as a 'witch hunt,' the investigation will be backed by someone who wants to see the agent fall.

"Things get very intense," said series creator Shane Brennan, according to TV Line. "We discover that Hetty is being targeted.... and someone very close to her dies as a result."

It is unknown if the upcoming death will effect one of the series regulars, but the situation doesn't look to promising for Nell Jones (Renee Felice Smith).

"[Nell] finds herself in a pretty dangerous situation early on in the season," Brennan teased. "And it has to do with Hetty."
