Hannibal ended season 2 with a major - and devastating - twist, but series creator Bryan Fuller isn't about to let fans rest easy. Season 3 won't pull any punches.

Half Hannibal and half Hannibal Rising, the upcoming season will continue to reimagine Thomas Harris' original work.

"There are some twists and turns [in season 3]," Fuller teased, according to Crave Online. "Really the only stuff we've kind of let out officially are things from the book that we're going to be reimagining. Exactly how we're going to reimagine it I think is part of the fun. Yes, you're going to be having a dish that has chocolate chips, and it has walnuts, and there may be some form of dough-based item... but there are also bananas. [Laughs.] So what is it going to be?"

Over the first four episodes, viewers will find out just which characters will survive Dr. Lecter's (Mads Mikkelsen) "Mizumono" massacre.
