With Elizabeth Olsen set to portray the mutant daughter of Magneto, Scarlet Witch, in the next Avengers movie, it is a second character that both the sequel to the Marvel movie could share with the X-Men series that has already featured Quicksilver. Could Scarlet Witch be joining the X-Men also?

A Number Of X-Men Could Be Set To Die In 'Apocalypse'

With Evan Peters playing Quicksilver in the X-Men series and Aaron Taylor-Johnson portraying the character in the Avengers one, it isn't the first time that the two franchise have shared characters and having Scarlet Witch would reunite Magneto with his two children.

In the comics, Scarlet Witch is a member of Magneto's version of the X-Men, dying to defend the X-Men's base on Wundagore Mountain and the students within it from an attack by Nemesis while the rest of the team was busy thwarting Apocalypse's attempts to take control of a nuclear missile stockpile, her last words being to ask the newly arrived Rogue to take care of her father.

Is A Fan Favorite X-Men Character Getting His Standalone Movie Teased At The End Of 'Apocalypse?'

Scarlet Witch is briefly cloned to repeat the "no more mutants" spell and end the war between humans and the Akkaba forces. But the spell does not go well. Only Jean and the other mutants near are depowered, but Weapon X remains powered.

Having this character added to the X-Men franchise would allow another Jean Grey type of character to add to the series even though a younger version of Jean is rumored to show up, but it would also allow this "no more mutants" story to take place in the movie.

It would also have Magneto dealing with his mutant kids in Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch and possibly add a dimension not seen yet in an X-Men movie: a mutant dealing with his children.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set to open in theaters on May 27, 2016.
