The third in Boardwalk Empire's eight-episode final season on HBO airs this Sunday, and things aren't going so well for Margaret Schroeder (Kelly Macdonald).

Margaret Turning To Husband For Help On 'Boardwalk Empire'

During Season 3, Margaret made a deal with the notorious Arnold Rothstein to help give him inside information at her job in exchange for free housing for her and her children.

The prohibition drama stayed true to history in killing off Rothstein off-camera and with his 1928 murder comes some difficult repercussions for Margaret in 1931.

In a clip recently released by the network (featured below), Margaret is questioned by police regarding a stock market account Rothstein had with her firm under the alias "Mr. Redstone."

While Margaret claim's "it's been years" since the death of which they speak, one law enforcement agent notes that there has been some unusual activity since 1928.

"His account, or Mr. Redstone's account, has been very much alive," he explains, "Eighteen cash withdrawals since then."

Margaret is told "legal action against the firm is eminent" and the nervous woman does her best to feign ignorance, though her concern is obvious to audiences. The men seem to believe her boss had been stealing the money, but was it really Margaret? Will they eventually tie the account to her?

Whether she likes it or not, Margaret might just have to turn to her estranged husband Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) for help before she finds herself in too deep.

Boardwalk Empire continues on HBO with its fifth and final season on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
