A new report has hinted at the course season 3 of House of Cards might take and an aspect the plot might focus on, suggesting it will be taking things international.

"Patent Reform" To Be Taken Up In Season 3?

Hallels speculation is rooted in recent reports of Pussy Riot, the Russian female punk band that was imprisoned, guest starring in the next chapter of the Netflix series. The inclusion of Russian issues could be spurred by a couple of recent incidents.

House of Cards didn't get permission to film in the official UN headquarters in New York because the Russian representative did not consent. Pussy Riot are eblematic of rebelling against authority and have been the crusaders of dissent in Russia, having been put behind bars for the same. Perhaps the show will also feature America's dealings with Russia and the Putin's hostile attitude to Big Brother, highlighting the Ukrainian conflict.

It would also be interesting if the show took on the issue of Islamic terrorism and addressed the recent emergence of radical organisations that could threaten America.

Beau Willimon is the writer and director of the show, which stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright.

The third season of House of Cards is currently filming in Maryland, where the first and second seasons were also shot. Initially, the continuation of filming of the third season of the Netflix series was fraught with troubles over the past few weeks as the producers weren't getting permission from the State of Maryland. But the issue was finally resolved on April 25.
