He's said in the past that he would take a break from his career to focus on having a family when the time came, and it appears Ryan Gosling may be keeping to that declaration.

Ryan Gosling 'So In Love' With His Daughter

According to Us Weekly, the 33-year-old's new family with Eva Mendes has become his biggest focus since the couple welcomed their daughter September 12.

"His family is now his number one priority," a source close to Gosling told the magazine. "He's accomplished everything work-wise that he had hoped and this is the next step in his life."

The actor had previously said before he began dating Mendes that if he were to become a father one day, he would put his movie career on hold to focus on that priority.

"I'd like to be making babies but I'm not, so I'm making movies," he said back in 2011. "When someone comes along, I don't think I'll be able to do both and I'm fine with that. I'll make movies until I make babies."

The actor won't be taking a break from movies forever thankfully, as he has signed on to star opposite Russell Crowe in the 2016 film The Nice Guys-but he has not been attached to any other projects.

Meanwhile, being a new father has apparently looked good on the actor, and he has reportedly been doting on both his girlfriend and his daughter since they arrived back at her Los Feliz home a few days after the birth.

"Ryan hasn't left Eva's side," the source told US, noting that he was being very hands-on, despite the couple having a nurse who was helping out around the clock.

No specific details about the couple's daughter-including a name-have been revealed.
