With the main Bond girl set to be a British actress, could Daniel Craig's actual wife be a possible candidate to take on the lead female role in the next Bond movie?

'Pacific Rim' Star Is 'Absolutely' Interested In Playing James Bond

One name that could make sense as a possible Bond girl is Craig's wife, Rachel Weisz, who is both British and within the age range that it seems like Craig and Sam Mendes are looking at when it comes to the female lead.

Weisz is no stranger to action films as her first claim to fame was in The Mummy franchise. She followed that with roles in The Brothers Bloom, The Bourne Legacy and Constantine. The actress also doesn't have a lot of work heading forward.

Is This 'Downton Abbey' Star Headed To Try & Woo James Bond?

The couple has previously worked on the film, Dream House, but do not have any future projects together. It would make sense to add Weisz as it would create some genuine chemistry between her character and James Bond, and it would allow Weisz to get back into the action genre where she has always interjected some charm.

Casting is underway for Bond 24 with other names like Lea Seydoux, Penelope Cruz, and most recently Downton Abbey star Joanne Froggatt as possible actresses to take over the lead female role in the movie.

The next Bond movie is returning most of the cast from Skyfall including Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear, and Naomie Harris. It also is bringing back Mendes as director with Noel Purvis, Robert Wade, and John Logan as the writers.

Bond 24 is set to open in theaters on November 6, 2015.
