In August, The New York Post reported that Johnson announced a leave of absence from the PGA for personal reasons. "I am taking a leave of absence from professional golf, effective immediately," Johnson said, three days after withdrawing from the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio.

Johnson gave up his spot at last weekend's Ryder Cup because of it, but he was on people's minds at the tournament.

New Reasons On Why Paulina Gretzky's Fiancé Dustin Johnson Left PGA

"Dustin is so passionate about the Ryder Cup," David Winkle, Johnson's Dallas-based agent told The State Saturday. "I'm sure Dustin will be keeping track of the Ryder Cup and wishing his buddies well."

Winkle also said Johnson was "avoiding the clutter" during his time off from the PGA. "He's doing great. He's happy, healthy and doing what he set out to do. He's working diligently on a few things and he's in great spirits. It's best for him to stay focused on his plan."

Gretzky and Johnson have been engaged since last year and announced the news of her pregnancy her Instagram account earlier this month.

In August, Golf.com had reported that Johnson failed three drug tests, including two for cocaine, which was the real reason he took a leave of absence. The website reported that he was put on a six-month suspension for his alleged second charge.

However, the PGA later denied all of these claims. "With regard to media reports that Dustin Johnson has been suspended by the PGA Tour, this is to clarify that Mr. Johnson has taken a voluntary leave of absence and is not under a suspension from the PGA Tour," PGA Tour executive vice president Ty Votaw said in a statement.

Johnson has not announced when he will return to professional golf.
