While promoting Annabelle, the upcoming horror film, which Wan is producing, Wan spoke to Cinema Blend. When asked if there might be some spillover from his previous films, like Insidious and Saw, nestled in the indie-horror realm, Wan revealed that there might be some stylistic spillovers but that Fast and Furious 7 would come closer to his latest release, Death Sentence, which stars Kevin Bacon.

""I've thought of many ways to incorporate it," he said. "Probably not so much from my horror movies, by definitely stylistic and aesthetic more from my third movie - my sort of revenge thriller film, which John [Leonetti] shot for me. Death Sentence. That definitely has shades of that in Fast 7."

The interviewer went on to dig deeper, asking the director if Death Sentence would find its way into the Fast and Furious universe, to which Wan seemed open.

"I'm not going to go that far, but potentially! Maybe Kevin Bacon can show up!" he said.

Fast and Furious 7 will take off from where Fast and Furious 6 left off. Wan took over the director's role from Justin Lin, who announced earlier in the year that he will step away from directing the franchise.

The cast for the seventh installment reprising their roles include Diesel, Luke Evans, Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez. UFC Womens Bantam weight champion Ronda Rousey and ONG Bak star Tony Jaa will also star in the film.

Fast and Furious 7 will hit theaters in April 3, 2015.
