In the show's second season, which bowed in July, the character had a large storyline devoted to her health, as her doctor informed her she needed a new kidney. After her son, Remi (Drew Van Acker) was revealed to not be a match, she began a major search for a donor-eventually realizing her maid, Zoila's (Judy Reyes) ex, Pablo (Alex Fernandez) was a match. However, after Zoila ended things with Pablo to be with Javier (Ivan Hernandez), Pablo backed out of donating his kidney, leaving Genevieve in peril. As of the season's end, she still didn't have a donor, and her deteriorating condition forced Remi and Valentina (Edy Ganem) to end their romance once again.

The show was officially renewed for a third season September 26, after two months of speculation that it wouldn't be back. An official premiere date has not been announced.
