With the recent fall from grace for Stephen Collins, it seems like his more recent roles in movies have begun to cut ties with the actor who recently admitted to molesting young children. This studio comedy has just let the actor go from the small role he was set to play.

'Ted 2' Star Teases Return Of Cult Favorite From First Movie

Entertainment Weekly reported on Tuesday that Collins, who was set to play a small role in Seth MacFarlane's upcoming comedy sequel Ted 2, has been fired from the picture after the child molestation scandal surfaced early this week.

EW added that it was unclear what role Collins was set to play, but had teased his part earlier with a tweet about Seth MacFarlane keeping him to secrecy.

The site added that although the 67-year-old actor has not yet been charged with a crime, the recording of him admitting to the crimes and the police investigation that has since been launched were enough to lead MacFarlane and Universal Pictures to immediately end his involvement in the movie.

They also speculated on what the role could be saying that the Family Guy creator is a renowned Star Trek aficionado, and Collins played a significant role in 1979's Star Trek: The Motion Picture as Will Decker, the man who takes over as captain of the Enterprise after James Kirk is promoted to Starfleet admiral.

No word yet if this Star Trek reference was the supposed small role, but it is a possible link for MacFarlane who loves to put pop culture references in his work heavily.

Ted 2 is still filming with an intended release date of June 26, 2015.
