With DC getting their massive superhero schedule set yesterday, it begged the question: who would be in this Suicide Squad movie? It seems like four big stars could be headed to play superheroes next.

Are Wonder Woman & The Flash Getting Their Own Movies?

The Hollywood Reporter broke on Wednesday after the big DC announcement that four names are being targeted by Warner Bros. and DC to take over the roles in Suicide Squad: Will Smith, Ryan Gosling, Margot Robbie and Tom Hardy.

All of these stars are working right now within the Warner Bros. tentpole with Smith and Robbie doing Focus, which premieres next year, Hardy with Mad Max and Gosling with Gangster Squad previously. It also seems like the last name is sniffing around for a franchise to be apart of.

Will The New Villain Team-Up Lead To A Fight With The Justice League?

Reports circulated yesterday in the same post that Gosling was looking to latch onto a franchise and was targeting Suicide Squad, a possible franchise centered around Houdini, and Marvel's Doctor Strange as possibilities. While the actor has been notoriously against being apart of a franchise, maybe family life has changed his mind and made him realize he needs the big bucks.

Smith is an interesting name as the actor is no stranger to franchises, but has been striking out lately with new ones like After Earth. Maybe joining the superhero party could change Smith's mind and his resume with Warner Bros. doesn't hurt when it comes to getting him paid big and grabbing a large role.

Robbie seems like one they could most easily lock down as she is still looking for a franchise to be apart of and is currently at work on one possibility with David Yates' Tarzan. The actress, who wowed audiences in The Wolf of Wall Street, could become the first name crossed off the list.

Hardy is a fickle one also and has been at the top of pretty much every superhero casting list after his performances in Inception and The Dark Knight Rises. Who knows if this will be the one that could lock him down, but Mad Max: Road Fury could take off and he may have his own franchise to worry about.

Suicide Squad is set to be directed by Fury helmer David Ayer with a release date of Aug. 5, 2016.
