The pairing of Disney and Steven Sondheim could almost be criminal as the two were almost made for each other. Now the work of Sondheim's Into the Woods is hitting the big screen with the likes of Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, and Emily Blunt taking on the roles, but what can people expect from this big cast?

In the film's latest featurette, Streep talks about working with director Rob Marshall and what it was like to have all these characters around her.

"Rob Marshall really is amazing. He has such a musical sensibility. He actually has a percussive sense of the movement of the piece. He is almost like a conductor," she said. "Nobody ever gets to play this kind of heightened reality, fantasy, fairy tale that is married to a beautiful score."

Marshall praised Sondheim's work paired with the cast that included a few Oscar winners and how they were able to create this fairytale world around them.

"I think Steven Sondheim is the greatest living composer that we have. It is like the great material matching our great actors and when those two things come together, it is just amazing," Marshall said.

Blunt talked about how human this fairytale story could actually be and how audiences will be able to relate with these fantasy characters more than they would think.

"The woods really lures all of these characters to discover what they really want in life," she said. "The theme is very much careful what you wish for and you should just look at what you have rather than what you want because the repercussions of that can be quite dangerous."

Into the Woods opens in theaters on Christmas Day.
