Penny Dreadful just finished shooting the season two premiere for Showtime and the cast couldn't be more excited to be back.

John Logan Admits 'Penny Dreadful' Was An 'Uncharted World'

"We'll be doing that [filming] until March," Harry Treadaway (Victor Frankenstein) recently revealed to RCN TV (featured below), which means production's only just begun. The actor noted that some of the sets from season one now feel more familiar. Having spent eight episodes in them during season one, it's a comfortable space to be settling back into.

"It feels like a sort of real place that we know," he added, referring specifically to Sir Malcolm's (Timothy Dalton) home. Treadaway spent much time there filming with Dalton, Evan Green (Vanessa Ives), Danny Sapani (Sembene), and Josh Hartnett (Ethan Chandler) during the program's first season.

'Penny Dreadful' Will 'Get Back To Nature' This Season

Even with returning characters and sets, Treadaway assured fans that not everything will be the same when the Victorian supernatural drama returns next year. The will be new faces and new storylines which will keep viewers guessing.

"More sort of turns and twists and tales along the way…" he explained. "it's really exciting. I'm absolutely thrilled to be back."

Treadaway declared that "the joy" of creator John Logan's writing is wonderful. "The eight episodes I've read just for this second season are pretty amazing," he insisted.

Production seems to have taken a break temporarily following the end of the first block, though it will resume shortly with director Damon Thomas at the wheel.

Penny Dreadful returns to Showtime for a second season in 2015.
