Kristen Stewart's upcoming indie film, "On the Road" has premiered a new trailer online. The new preview includes scenes not featured in the first.

The "Twilight" actress plays Marylou, a free spirit type who appears topless and sleeps with two men. Stewart described playing Marylou as "emotionally stimulating."

"I love Marylou, as a character she's very vivid, she jumps right off the page and smacks you in the face with her tongue. Not in a bad way!" Stewart told Digital Spy at Cannes Film Festival.

"She wasn't rebelling against anything; she was so just being herself," she added.

According to the report, Stewart wanted to make sure the film's sex scenes were perfect.

"I wanted to do it," she said. "The reason I want to do the job is because you read something and you're provoked on some level. It's just taking that further and being able to live it."

The movie is a film adaptation of Jack Kerouac's novel of the same name.

The story follows Sal Paradise, a young writer and his friend Dean Moriarty, who travel across the country during the "beat" generation. According to IFC Films, "the two friends cut their ties and take to the road with Marylou. Thirsting for freedom, the three young people head off in search of the world, of other encounters, and of themselves."

"On The Road" premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May. It will be released in theaters on December 21, 2012 following Stewart's final "Twilight" movie, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2," on November 16.

The film also stars Amy Adams, Steve Buscemi, Terrence Howard and Elisabeth Moss.
