Robert Pattinson is scheduled to appear on ABC's "Good Morning America" on August 15.

The network advertised the sit-down with the A-list star on Monday, according to US Weekly.

The live interview is expected to boost higher ratings for the hit morning show than usual - and will be the first time Pattinson will speak publicly since his breakup with girlfriend Kristen Stewart for having an affair with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders.

Stewart issued a statement on July 25 apologizing to Pattinson, who was her boyfriend of over three years. Married film director Sanders has also issued an apology to his wife Liberty Ross and their two children.

Pattinson will be promoting the release of his independent film "Cosmopolis" which will arrive in theaters on August 17. "Twilight" fans will watch the interview to hear Pattinson's response to the highly publicized cheating scandal.

Radar Online reports that friends of the British actor have been trying to help keep his mind off the 22-year-old. He was spotted hanging out with a group of friends at a cowboy dance club in California over the weekend.

Pattinson has reportedly been hiding out at the home of his "Water for Elephants" co-star Reese Witherspoon since the split. The "Deer Lodge," in Ojai, California, is a 90-minute drive from the vacation home of Witherspoon.

"I've been told by several people that Robert Pattinson was here enjoying the music with his friends. He seemed in good spirits," a Deer Lodge employee told Radar Online exclusively. "I wasn't on that night so I didn't personally see him, but several others did."

"Rob's a total mess, trying to figure out why Kristen did this," an insider told US Weekly.

"Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -Part 12", starring both Pattinson and Stewart is scheduled for release on November 14, 2012.

Summit Entertainment, the production company behind the "Twilight" series, have announced that promotion of "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" is moving "full steam ahead."
