Alfonso Ribeiro might be the frontrunner on the current season of ABC's Dancing With the Stars, but it hasn't been easy at all for the sitcom actor.

'Dancing With the Stars' Contestant Tommy Chong Admits Why He Was 'Dumb' After Sustaining Injury

Ribeiro spoke with TVGuide.com about the grueling DWTS schedule and how his body is breaking down with each new week.

"I knew it was going to be physically grueling, obviously having friends who have done the show before," Ribeiro said. "I actually direct Zendaya. I used to direct her on our show Shake It Up, and I'm scheduled to direct her on her new show. I've seen her. I've watched her go through it. I've watched Joey [Fatone] go through it, Corbin Bleu. So I've known the schedule. I knew it was going to be grueling. And even from the beginning, I felt like, if my body could hold up, I feel like I could make it all the way. I didn't figure it would break down as early as it did."

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor injured his groin earlier in the season and has been dealing with it in rehearsals and performances ever since.

Ribeiro said that he feels like he "can't do 100 percent" anymore due to his injury, adding that he "can't get it to that next level."

The actor and his pro dancing partner Witney Carson are set to dance the Foxtrot to the classic Ain't That a Kick in the Head on Monday night's episode. They will also be performing a trio dance with Lindsay Arnold. They are dancing the Paso Doble.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
