While he just released his latest film into theaters, it seems like this famous director could be moving to a James Bond film soon after he revealed that he has had talks with the producers about coming on at some point.

'James Bond 24' Has Found The Artist To Sing Its Theme

In an interview with The Daily Beast on Monday, Christopher Nolan talked about his affinity to the Bond franchise and whether or not he would like to take on a movie at some point in his career.

"I love James Bond and I've talked with the producers over the years, but nothing's ever worked out," he said. "They do a great job - they don't need me right now, and Sam [Mendes] is an extraordinary talent. I will absolutely be first in line to see the next Bond film as I have been for all of them."

Nolan has been on the wish list for Bond fans for a long time now and it is assuring for those fans that he has at least had discussions with the producers.

One fan hope is that Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig will finish up their time on the franchise and hand it off to Nolan and a new Bond for a few movies, but it doesn't seem likely that the director would want to get tied down with another franchise.

On the other hand, he did just release a new movie and with Craig locked down for a few years, he could wait it out and direct some more movies while that character finished up and then move in and do one or two Bond films with the new actor.

The next film, Bond 24, is set to open in theaters on Nov. 6, 2015.
