Kendall Jenner explained why she doesn't want Kim Kardashian at her shows in a recent interview.

Speaking to Juju Chang for ABC's Nightline, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star revealed why Kim's presence at her runway shows is not welcome.

“Banned is a strong word — it was more of a mutual understanding,” Jenner said in the interview, via a Tuesday report by Page Six. “I think that if my sister [Kim] was sitting front-row, and my sister is who she is, I know this sounds kind of weird, but it almost would have almost taken the attention away from what I’m trying to do on my own.”

Since the start of her modeling career years ago, Jenner has made it clear she does not want to get jobs because of her famous last name. In addition to cutting back her time on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Jenner also opted to omit her last name altogether. Now, in the modeling world, Jenner is known only by her first name, Kendall.

"What I have has almost worked against me," Jenner told Love Magazine in July 2014 of her infamous last name and reality TV fame. "I had to work even harder to get where I wanted because people didn’t take me seriously as a model."

Also in the interview, Jenner told Love she was grateful to those who didn't recognize her. "It was great when people didn’t recognize me. I was like, ‘Thank you. Please don’t recognize me.’”

In recent months, Jenner has walked in shows for several top designers, including Chanel and Mark Jacobs. Last week, she was named as the new face of Estee Lauder.
