With the shortlist coming out for who director Bryan Singer was considering for the next X-Men movie, could the director turn to a more well-known name that has spoke out about an interest to join a superhero franchise?

What Are The Odds That The Rumored 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Casting Names Work Out?

Chloe Grace Moretz, Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld are currently the names being considered for the role of Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse, but could Insurgent star Shailene Woodley join the race due to fan support and the actresses' willingness to do a superhero?

In a recent interview with Reuters, Woodley talked about her affinity for Marvel and the fun that those movies exude. She also said that she would be happy to join one.

Is Nicholas Hoult Going Evil For 'X-Men: Apocalypse?'

"I would love to be part of the Marvel world, I personally love Marvel movies. Honestly, I think they're all just so fun," she said. "I haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy yet and I'm so excited to see it. But they just take you somewhere and it's an escape. And I love that. That's part of why we love movies."

While Woodley was initially supposed to be in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise, she had to be cut when her role was prominent and the actress moved on to work on Divergent. Even though the quotes are pertaining to Marvel studio movies, it wouldn't be too out of the realm for Woodley to consider Fox's X-Men series.

As of now, she still has to work on two more Divergent movies that could start filming soon and create an issue for the actress, but outside of that, it wouldn't be crazy to see her included on the list due to her past experience compared to the others.

X-Men: Apocalypse comes out on May 27, 2016.
