TIME on Wednesday published an interview with Kendrick in which she dished some interesting facts about Pitch Perfect.

Kendrick shared that she fought for changes in the Pitch Perfect script because originally her character's low point was supposed to be about finding out that the guy she "vaguely had a crush on at the radio station had a girlfriend." She said she thought "that sucks" and therefore "fought so hard" so her low point could be that she didn't think she'd ever get more responsibility at the station. "I think that we ended up on a mixed version of the two. The scene got deleted anyway, so it's a moot point. But yeah. I was like, 'That's garbage!'" she said.

She refused to go along with the "Oh my crush has a girlfriend. I guess I was wrong about everything" plot.

Kendrick said during the editing phase, the director, producers and so on quickly realized "that it was all about the girls and spending more time with the girls. So that was an awesome direction that it ended up taking. And I'm excited we're revisiting that in Pitch Perfect 2."

Below is the trailer for Pitch Perfect 2, which is coming to theaters in May 15, 2015.
