Supernatural's Cain is set to return in season 10.

'Supernatural' Fall Finale Twist; Claire Novak, Mark of Cain, John Winchester Discussed

Actor Tim Omundson confirmed his return while speaking with AfterBuzz TV at the Burbank Salute to Supernatural in mid-November.

"I can now officially say yes, you will [see Cain]," Omundson announced. "I'm coming back [in] I believe episode 14 of season 10, so we shoot that in about three weeks. I'm very excited that the schedules worked out and they want me back. I've heard the story line and it's pretty wicked."

The father of Murder transferred his Mark to Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) during season 9, but there was a stipulation attached. In order for Dean to receive the power to kill Abaddon, he had to return and finish off Cain as well.

Unfortunately for Dean, he no longer has the First Blade to complete this task. What's more, he will most likely be stuck with the mark if he ganks its true owner, and the hunter may not want to keep it (Dean will make a decision regarding the Mark in episode 9, "The Things We Left Behind").

Considering the Mark's murderous effects, Cas (Misha Collins) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) would be more than happy to find a way to get rid of it whether Dean wants to or not.

Whatever the case, Omundson believes the tension will be cranked up a notch.

"I can guarantee you it's going to get pretty intense," he teased.
