FX's American Horror Story: Freak Show is now over halfway through its season and favorite characters have definitely emerged for the show's dedicated fanbase.

As with each season of American Horror Story, there is a variety of characters to love, hate or love to hate in Freak Show. Characters like Jimmy (Evan Peters), Ethel (Kathy Bates) and Desiree (Angela Bassett) have emerged as forces of good in an evil world while Dandy (Finn Wittrock), Dell (Michael Chiklis) and Stanley (Denis O'Hare) continue to be villainous.

Other characters have shadings of both good and evil, including the Tattler twins (Sarah Paulson), Maggie (Emma Roberts), Gloria (Frances Conroy) and, of course, Elsa (Jessica Lange).

'American Horror Story' Standout Pepper's 'Origin Story' Ahead & Fans Are 'Going To Be Pleased'

One of the most standout roles so far has been Dandy, the petulant man-child obsessed with curing his own boredom by torturing those around him. Part of what makes the character stand out is the introduction of Wittrock, who seems to fit in perfectly with the show's pastiche.

Twisty the Clown (John Carroll Lynch) was also a memorable character during his run on the show. While he was shockingly killed very early in the season, the clown's grotesque, memorable appearance combined with Lynch's tragic performance made him a standout.

Some of the more minor performers in the freak show are/were fan favorites as well, including Pepper (Naomi Grossman), Paul the Illustrated Seal (Mat Fraser), Amazon Eve (Erika Ervin) and Ma Petite (Jyoti Amge).

It remains to be seen if any of these characters will emerge as fan favorites in the second half of the season. For now, vote for your favorite character in the poll below.
