The Originals is stirring up trouble on The CW Monday night when Klaus threatens his estranged brothers with "agonizing torture."

Klaus Lets His Fears Get The Better Of Him On 'The Originals'

On Friday The CW released the most telling clip yet from Monday night's episode, entitled The Brothers That Care Forgot (featured below). In the minute-long clip, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) revealed to brothers Finn (Yusuf Gatewood) and Kol (Daniel Sharman) that he doesn't need both of them to go up against their mother Esther (Sonja Sohn).

"Now I'd prefer you both to join me against out mother," he declared. "But I will happily settle for one or the other, either way if you continue to defy me your lives will be reduced to an unending sequence of agonizing torture. So, which is it to be?"

The Mikaelson Siblings All Reunite On 'The Originals'

Kol seemed like the most likely candidate to turn, particularly since he's been prone to keeping information, such as Mikael's (Sebastian Roche) return, hidden from Esther all season. Finn, on the other hand, has always been most loyal to their mother. His is the one to look for strategy, while Kol is overall more impulsive.

Right there alongside Klaus during this scene was Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who had his own bone to pick with Kol after he used Davina and tried to drag Rebekah (Claire Holt) back into the Mikaelson family's chaos. As far as Marcel was considered, Kol is long overdue for a beating.

Monday night's episode will not only give Klaus the opportunity to pin his brothers against one another, it will also mark the return of Rebekah and baby Hope to New Orleans. With the baby in danger, Klaus is even more likely to do whatever it takes to protect her.

The Originals continues on The CW with its second season Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
