A spider crawled inside a woman's ear canal while she slept and stayed in it for five days.

The woman, identified as Ms. Lee, arrived at China's Changsha Central Hospital of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery complaining of an itch in her ear.

When Dr. Liu Sheng took a look inside her left ear canal, he discovered the spider living inside of it, according to RedNet News.

According to the report, doctors were going to use tweezers to remove the foreign object but were worried that it would bite Ms.Lee. There was also concern that it would crawl in further or the spider's legs could scratch the inside of her ear canal which would cause permanent damage.

Dr. Sheng poured saline solution into her ear to drive the spider out; it eventually crawled out on its own.

Ms. Lee revealed that her new home is under renovation. The construction might have attracted the spider to her house. She reportedly fell asleep to take a nap on August 3 and when she woke up the next morning, she began to experience the itching in her left ear.
