The report states that the producer of the Transformers films, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, had hinted at such a possibility by talking about a Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover, in a recent interview.

Other strong rumors about the cast have to do with Megan Fox returning to the franchise.

On September 1, MoviePilot reported that while Fox has expressed interest in returning, she might be in a bit of bind because of her commitment to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Recently, Fox who had been very critical of Bay right after the first phase of the Transformers franchise that she had starred in, buried the hatchet and said she would love to work with the director again. It seems like the two are best pals again and he was instrumental in getting her a part in the reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Speaking to E!News in an interview dated August 4, the actress revealed that she would be interested in coming back on board if she was asked.

"If [Bay] ever wanted me to do a cameo like assembling an autobot motorcycle in a bike shop or something like that, I would totally do it," Fox said.

Meanwhile, LeBeouf has been very noncommital and said that while he might be up for doing the sequel, it's highly unlikely that would happen. So maybe Fox will reprise her part with a new male co-lead.
