Now that The Originals is in its second season on The CW, actor Joseph Morgan has finally settled into being the star of a television series.

"I have a lot less free time," laughed Morgan (Klaus) during an interview with Young Hollywood on Monday (featured below). Being busy is just one of the things the actor's had to get used to since he went from being a supporting character on The Vampire Diaries to a lead role on The Originals.

"You know, it's been great," he admitted. "It's been a lot more work, but it's been a lot more rewarding."

Having worked with some of his co-stars back on The Vampire Diaries, Morgan revealed that he's rather close with some of the actors he spends his days with.

"We're good friends on The Originals set," he noted. "Particularly myself and Daniel Gillies."

While Morgan and Gillies (Elijah) are often at odds as onscreen brothers, the pair have had a great deal of fun behind-the-scenes.

"We had a series of pranks running for a while," explained Morgan. "You know, we have these assigned parking spots and it started with him parking his jeep diagonally across my spot."

To retaliate, Morgan decided to hide Gillies' jeep. Then the two started locking each other out of their dressing rooms.

According to Morgan, the pranks "ended" when Gillies "tried to park too close" to Morgan's car and subsequently "crashed" into it. The actor remained in good spirits discussing the whole ordeal, clearly fond of the actor who plays his brother on the series.

In addition to having fun in between takes, Morgan revealed that he "revels" in playing his character. "Villains have more fun…" he insisted. "Klaus for example is very impulsive… which is really fun to play."

With the midseason finale just around the corner, Klaus' impulsive nature might just yield unexpected and bloody results as he fights to protect his baby daughter.

The Originals continues on The CW with its second season Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
