The Mentalist's Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon are now an item, and the season 7 premiere will carefully explore who the pair can fit their new relationship into their old work life.

The Jisbon relationship will be moving a long at a clip when season 7 opens - the pair will already have exchanged keys - but the new couple will still have plenty of obstacles to over come.

"I feel like there was sort of a hollowness and an emptiness to the Jane character, and the obvious thing was to try and fill that void with a relationship," said actor Simon Baker (Jane) in a season 7 featurette. "Then when we got to the point at the end of season 6 where they profess their love for each other and we came back to do 13 more episodes in season 7, it was a process of trying to figure out how do we deal with this relationship."

The first problem Jisbon will have to deal with involves keeping their relationship a secret from the people they work with. While their workplace romance is not something scowled upon by the higher-ups, Jane and Lisbon (Robin Tunney) will still try to keep it under wraps. At least until another character spills the beans in the premiere.

Titled "Nothing but Blue Skies," the premiere will also see the love-struck couple confront Marcus Pike. Lisbon's old beau, Pike will pop up at the FBI office after Lisbon cancels her plans to move to DC.
