Oscar Pistorius is currently serving jail time for killing (culpable homicide) his girlfriend last Valentine's Day and now he may face murder charges after all.

Judge Thokozile Masipa Grants Prosecution Appeal Over Her Verdict For Oscar Pistorius

On Thursday, Times LIVE reported that the athlete "lost it" according to a fellow prisoner when he heard on the radio that Judge Thokozile Masipa granted the prosecution the right to challenge the acquittal on murder charges against him.

The prisoner who is also serving time at the Kgosi Mampuru II jail in Pretoria said Pistorius went into a fury of rage.

Oscar Pistorius Could Potentially Get Convicted Of Murder

"He got up and stomped. He went straight to the gym. He started lifting weights like it was going out of fashion. He is pissed off," the fellow prisoner said.

The prisoner added, "Who wouldn't be [angry]? He was definitely expecting to be out by August."

If the appeal on Pistorius' conviction is successful it will be converted from culpable homicide to murder, which carries a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison.

The prisoner said that Pistorius "can barely console himself." Pistorius is very upset that he'll be spending the holidays behind bars instead of with his family and friends.

Times LIVE further reported that criminal law expert Martin Hood said, "It's about time he realized that this is the real world of crime," since it's unreasonable to assume he'd be released by August.

Hood added, "It is a good ruling because finally we will have some sort of certainty, which will hopefully restore public confidence in the criminal justice system."
