Now that FX's Sons of Anarchy is over, there is already some speculation about a potential spinoff show, perhaps centered around John Teller.

While Sons of Anarchy creator and show runner Kurt Sutter previously told E! Online that he's "had really... nothing concrete" in terms of a vision for a spinoff show, "[FX President John] Landgraf really wants to do it and we'll figure out a way to make that happen."

As such, he and frequent director Paris Barclay talked about a few Sons of Anarchy spinoff ideas if they were ever to make one.

At the top of the list is probably a prequel series centered on John Teller and the First Nine, a.k.a. the founding members of SAMCRO.

"We can see the roots of the club and I see it as a different show in terms of I don't think it will be as pulpy...I feel it will be a little more, I don't want to say a historical show, but it takes place in the '60s and it's Vietnam, so there's a lot of iconic events happenings around it that influence John Teller," Sutter hypothesized, talking about a potential First Nine spinoff. "To me, that's an interesting show to make and I think the die-hard fans will plug into that and I think maybe because if it's tonally, it'll be a little different, that perhaps that we bring in new viewers as well."

He said that he likes the idea of the series being a "one-off" because he doesn't want to "step on" the grand mythology he created with Sons of Anarchy.

This concept may be a good idea that fans of Sons of Anarchy would likely flock to, though it probably wouldn't happen for a little while. Sutter is creating another FX series called The Bastard Executioner that he will be busy with in the near to distant future. Katey Sagal is slated to be involved with the series.
