Fox has released the official plot synopsis for the first two episodes of the final season of Glee, which includes a sure to be emotional reunion.

Pam Anderson Featured In Final Season of 'Glee' As Blaine's Mom?

The first two episodes of the musical series' final season are set to air in the same night: Friday, Jan. 9. The two-hour premiere event sees the return of many familiar faces to McKinley High. It looks like all of the kids will be busy in the final season.

"After Rachel's [Lea Michele] humiliating failure as TV actress, she comes home to Lima to figure out what she wants to do next," the plot synopsis reads. "Upon discovering that Sue [Jane Lynch] has banished the arts at McKinley, Rachel takes it upon herself to reinstate and lead the Glee Club.

"Meanwhile, Blaine [Darren Criss], no longer in a relationship with Kurt [Chris Colfer], has moved home to coach the Warblers while Will [Matthew Morrison] is coaching rival Vocal Adrenaline, and Sam [Chord Overstreet] is the assistant coach for the McKinley football team."

This will all go down in the premiere episode titled Loser Like Me, a loving nod to one of the show's most popular original songs.

The next episode is titled Homecoming and it will be just that for the many students who graduated from McKinley in the past few years.

"Puck [Mark Salling], Quinn [Dianna Agron], Santana [Naya Rivera], Mercedes [Amber Riley], Brittany [Heather Morris], Artie [Kevin McHale] and Tina [Jenna Ushkowitz] all return to McKinley for Homecoming and help Rachel and Kurt recruit for the new glee club."

It is not known at this time if any of these characters will be recurring through the final season or if they are just returning for guest spots. Either way, it should be nostalgic for longtime fans longing to see the characters back in Lima.

Glee is set to premiere Friday, Jan. 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
