Avengers 2's Bruce Banner is in for a bumpy sequel.

'Avengers 2' Hawkeye: Joss Whedon Teases Clint Barton Plot, 'Something's Up With That Boy'

The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Iron Man's (Robert Downey Jr.) Hulkbuster battle has been widely publicized, and Joss Whedon recently spilled a few details regarding the angriest Avenger.

"Banner has a significant role, and the Hulk, you know, we really held back on him for a long while in the first one," Whedon told IGN. "That said, there's something terrible coming that you'll love."

What exactly will set off Banner's alter ego is unknown. Downey, however, hinted that the battle will be emotionally charged.

"It can't just be a good fight, it's gotta be about something," said Downey at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con, according to HitFix. "And the great thing in 'Age of Ultron' is, that fight between [the Hulk and Tony Stark] is, nobody wins when two people who are friends fight."

The official trailer for The Avengers: Age of Ultron shows a rather ill looking Banner wrapped in a blanket. What will unfortunate fate will befall the explosive hero? Marvelites can find out when Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1.
