Fans of FOX's Red Band Society may not be able to get their biggest Christmas wish, but there's a chance they will have something to smile about in the New Year.

'Red Band Society' Cast 'Not Ready To Say Goodbye'

Though production was halted on the freshman series and episodes were left off of FOX's spring schedule, an Instagram post by director Jason Ensler may be confirming that fans will still get to see the final three episodes the show taped for their first season-even if they are the last ones that will be made.

Ensler shared a photo of guest star Jessica Lu on his page Dec. 15, and though he did seem confident that episodes 11-13 would be given a chance to air, he couldn't confirm when exactly they would be on.

Dave Annable Confident 'Red Band Society' May Return?

"@hijessicalu gives #dash a run for his $$ when #redbandsociety returns in the #newyear #nospoiler #nobodysbusiness but mine and my baby. Note: there are 3 episodes remaining in season 1. When they will air is a #mystery. #prayforsoon," he captioned the photo of Lu.

The fact that the final episodes of the show may be given a chance to air could be good news for fans of the show, who have consistently taken to Twitter to tweet that they needed to #saveredbandsociety, and even started a petition on change.org, which has earned 16,775 signatures.

Though the show's 10th episode aired Dec. 3, fans are still campaigning for the show often on social media, with many begging FOX to reconsider their decision about halting production and giving them a second season.

In addition to fans campaigning for the show's return, some of its stars have been actively involved in trying to have it brought back as well, making sure fans continue trying to save the show with their own social media messages.

FOX has made no official announcements about the show's status and chances for a return.
