Once Upon a Time star Colin O'Donoghue recently revealed some of the changes ahead in the second half of season 4 for the Queens of Darkness in addition to his own character, Hook.

O'Donoghue spoke with Zap2It in a report published Monday about what was to come in the latter half of the season. For one thing, Ursula (Merrin Dungey) will be quite different than how fans were originally introduced to her while Maleficent remains pretty similar.

"The Ursula we saw [in Season 3] was Regina, so [this is] a very different type of Ursula. They can expect, certainly with Maleficent, she's very much the same -- but also a lot of time has passed," O'Donoghue revealed. "People will be pleasantly surprised by how they fit into the story, and how great a departure the second half of the season is to the Frozen stuff, which was an amazing thing to have on the show."

Meanwhile, Hook spent much of season 4's first half with his heart literally ripped out of his chest, but now that he has it back, he will be connecting with various Storybrooke characters in upcoming episodes.

"You definitely see in the second half of the season where Hook is integrating a little bit more into Storybrooke life," O'Donoghue said. "It's been difficult because every interaction he's had with people has been helping save the world somehow. We see where he kind of begins to make connections with other people."

O'Donoghue also said that eventually he wants to "explore" a younger version of Hook, as well as his relationship with his father. Regardless, the actor is just happy that he gets to play such a juicy character.

"I'm very lucky I get to play a character who's very complicated and at times can be very dark and at other times can be very light and charming. You don't often get to do that."

Once Upon a Time returns for the second half of season 4 on March 1 on ABC.
