It's been months since the announcement of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's split, and it looks like the singer might still be going through a hard time.

New details were posted on Daily Mail on Tuesday where Carey is allegedly a "mess" due to the failed relationship with her husband. A source supposedly told Us Weekly that "she can't sleep."

Even though her emotional wounds might be cut deep, the source claims that Carey is not ready to "give up the idea of a happy family."

Cannon recently confirmed to In Touch that he and his wife still keep in touch and will be spending Christmas together with their two kids, Monroe and Moroccan.

"Gotta keep that going," the America's Got Talent host said. "I want to make sure we have a wonderful holiday together."

"We talk and text every day," Cannon added. "My children are my No. 1 priority. Everything I do is for them. I just want to be the best father I can possibly be."

He also revealed what kinds of items he was thinking of getting for his kids on Christmas, posted on Daily Mail.

"My son loves games, like Angry Birds, but I'm trying to keep their eyes on the educational stuff," Cannon shared. "And honestly, my daughter likes sparkly things."

The host then admitted that his daughter is a "diva" just like her mother.
