Kristen Stewart has stepped out for the first time since photos surfaced last month showing her cheating on her boyfriend Robert Pattinson.

Pop Sugar ran exclusive photos of the "Twilight" star seen in Los Angeles baring her stomach in a midriff top, with grey jeans and another item that stunned photographers- Pattinson's Orioles baseball cap. She was also wearing the gold ring that is reportedly a gift from the British star.

The 22-year-old returned to the public eye a week after Pattinson completed a press tour in New York City to promote his independent film "Cosmopolis."

"She is down and lonely," a source told UK magazine Grazia Daily. "She's terrified of the reaction to her actions. She doesn't feel she should be the only one to suffer for something both her and Rupert had an equal part in. She knows she's made a mistake and she's sorry."

Stewart didn't attend the premiere for her latest film "On the Road" on Thursday, Aug. 16, in London. However, she was not alone in failing to make the overseas trip - her fellow American co-stars Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund were also unable to attend the screening.

The British stars of "On the Road," Tom Sturridge, Sam Riley and Danny Morgan, showed up for the event. Morgan told local reporters that he was "sad" Stewart was absent, according to Extra.  When asked if he has been in touch with the star, he said he had "no idea" how she was doing.

"I don't talk about my friends behind their back," he added.

Stewart had an affair with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders and photos ran of the pair kissing a few days after she attended the Teen Choice Awards with Pattinson. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the actress has been dropped from the planned sequel to "Snow White," but Universal Studios later revealed they will no longer film a sequel. Instead, they are "exploring all options" and might film a spinoff starring Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman.

Stewart is reportedly planning to make an appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, according to Pop Sugar.

A representative for "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 2" released a statement that the film's main three stars - Stewart, Pattinson and Taylor Lautner - will not attend the four official "Twilight" conventions slated to begin next month.
