On Aug. 26, at 5:30 a.m., "Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi posted on her Twitter page "I am SO IN LOVE with my son Lorenzo Dominic! I had my little man last night, healthy at 6 lbs! HE'SMY WORLD! <3"

The message received thousands of retweets by fans wishing the new mom congratulations.

Snooki gave birth a little before 3 a.m. on Sunday at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J., with fiance Jionni LaVelle by her side, E! News reported. Her reps confirmed when the star was admitted to the hospital, "Yes, Nicole has gone into labor. While we understand she has fans everywhere - hospitals now included - we ask that her privacy be respected moving forward. we'll all get to meet her Italian Stallion newborn soon enough."

No photos of the newborn have surfaced yet, either on the star's Twitter or Instagram, but rumors suggest that LaVelle recorded the entire labor. 

Soon after Lorenzo was born, Snooki tweeted "Relaxing with my boo" along with a thumbs up sign and a rep for the star released a statement saying, 
"The world just got another Guido!!!" 

Less than 24 hours prior to her entering the hospital, Snooki wrote that she was a "balloon waiting to pop" and before that she called herself a "pregnant whale." 

Her and LaVelle displayed their engagement party and the development of Snooki's baby bump on the MTV series "Snook and JWOWW," which she co-starred in with her real-life friend and "Jersey Shore" castmate. 

According to MTV, the couple began dating two years ago. Snookie plans to pursue a career in education and LaVelle works with children as a wrestling coach.
