Though they are still going to have to wait and see if FOX will give Red Band Society a second chance to prove itself with an all-new season, fans of the freshman drama series can at least take comfort in the fact that they will be able to see the final three episodes of season one.

How 'Empire' Could Affect 'Red Band Society's' Chance Of Returning

FOX appears to have quietly confirmed that they would air an all-new episode of the freshman drama series, which struggled in the ratings last fall, later this month in a new timeslot. The former 9 p.m. Wednesday show will air at least one of its final three episodes on Saturday, Jan. 31 at its usual time.

The network appeared to have confirmed the news on the show's official website, simply putting a note under the show's name that reads it will air Sat 9/8 C on Jan. 31.

Was 'Red Band Society' Eliminated From People's Choice Awards Contenders?

Naturally, some fans of the show have picked up on the quiet announcement, and taken to Twitter to express their excitement that show's final three episodes would be seen, meaning the show's winter finale cliffhanger back in December would have some resolution.

"Spread the world #SaveRedBandSociety @RedBandSociety will be back Jan 31 with a new episode! RT," one wrote.

"Is it true that #redbansociety is coming back on the 31th of January? @RedBandSociety @FOXTV," another asked.

"I'm SO Excited!!! #RedBandSociety is airing on Jan. 31. @FoxTV thank you!!! Keep 'em coming! #SaveRedBandSociety," another added.

Fans of the show have been actively working to try and keep the show from an official cancellation, which has not yet been announced by FOX. Those interested in joining the movement to save the shows can tweet using #saveredbandsociety and sign a petition on change.org.

FOX announced it was halting production on the freshman series back in November.
